The Deep State of Robots
The Alumiboti strive to be a premier FIRST Robotics Competition Team in Western New York. We will achieve this by building a solid team built on trust, respect, and technical competency.
Our Story
FIRST Team 5590 was founded in 2015 and participated in the FRC game Recycle Rush. The team started with five mentors and ten students, and its size has fluctuated. The team is headquartered out of St. Joseph’s Collegiate Insitute located in Buffalo, New York, where we have built up our own semi-complete robotics lab with the school’s and our sponsors’ help. All our students attend St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute and share a passion for robotics and STEM.
Most of our mentors have been industry engineers from local companies who donate their time to the team, along with a few faculty members from our home school, St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute. Some of these mentors and faculty are FIRST alumni themselves.
What is FIRST?
FIRST inspires young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities, including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
The FIRST Robotics Competition is more than just a competition, combining gracious professionalism with technology to create an environment that fosters a deeper appreciation for science and technology.
